The Hundred-Foot Journey: Movie Review
Synopsis:
This is the story of a family from India who has lost everything in a fire, including one of their loved ones. They move to France to try and make a life for themselves. The father sees a rundown building across from a Michelin star French fine dining restaurant. Being cooks, the father decides to buy the rundown building and turn it into an Indian food restaurant. In the end, it becomes a film about the competition for two restaurants, the rise of a chef and restaurant, tradition vs creativity, home, family, and love.
What I Liked:
It is a thoroughly entertaining with just as much humor and charm as it has heart and drama.
Honestly, I’m at a loss of what to say. It is a very good film with everything being pretty well done with little complaints.
Just don’t go to this film on an empty stomach. It might make you hungrier.
What I Didn’t Like:
It does feel a bit long at times, but I’ve come to expect this from most dramas.
Sometimes, it gets predictable and cheesy.
Honestly, not that many complaints either.
Rating:
3 and ½ stars out of 5.
